Chris Hirte is Co-Founder and President of the Young Insurance Professionals of Toronto (YIPT), a not-for-profit organization that aims to build, connect and inform Toronto’s young insurance community through networking functions, social events, and other value-add initiatives that provide a forum for individuals to stand out within the industry and access career development resources. A relatively new organization now entering its fifth year, YIPT has rapidly gained recognition within the industry as a networking hub for young insurance professionals, and a provider of engagement opportunities for the next generation of insurance leaders.
As President of YIPT, Chris’ main focus is to continue the growth of the organization’s membership, while further developing its Executive Team and Board of Directors. Since its founding, YIPT has grown to include over 1,100 members, a diverse group of 13 corporate sponsors, and an annual series of initiatives that includes: 10 different events, a newly launched mentoring program, and Young Insurance Professional of the Year recognition award.
In his day job, Chris is an Account Executive, Commercial Lines with The Hull Group – a boutique brokerage focused on serving the insurance needs of specialized groups of Commercial, Personal, Benefits and Life clients. On the Commercial Lines team, Chris’ primary focus lies in business development, growing The Hull Group’s roster of clients in the technology, professional services, media and communications industries. Chris is actively involved in Toronto’s vibrant tech community, as an executive team member of TechConnex, and an active participant in TechTO, StartUp Toronto, and Toronto Starts.
Chris holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Management and Organizational Studies from the University of Western Ontario. Since joining the industry in 2012, Chris has completed his CIP and holds an Associate in Insurance Production Canada (AIPC) designation from the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada.
